Mr Alastair Windsor is an esteemed colorectal and general surgeon based at the London Digestive Centre, Princess Grace Hospital and London Digestive Centre. He also works at King Edward VII's Hospital where he a founder member of the Endometriosis Centre at King Edward VII Hospital. He is widely regarded as one of the leaders in the field of coloproctology. His specialist interests include colorectal cancer, Crohn's and colitis, IBS, haemorrhoids, fistula and fissures.
Mr Windsor is well known for his high standards of surgical care. He is also well known for his expertise in the management of abdominal wall hernias and has pioneered the surgical reconstruction of the abdominal wall.
Mr Windsor was a pioneer in utilising a team-based approach to surgery, combining clinical and operative care, which is becoming standard practise on complex cases. As such, he works closely with other renowned doctors. He is a board member of the British Hernia Society and was a founding member of the Surgical European Crohn's and Colitis Organization and a former member of the committee of the IBD Section of the British Society of Gastroenterology.
He is a committed surgical trainer and educator and has run numerous surgical courses and conferences all over the world. Mr Windsor is also an active surgical researcher and has authored over 150 publications and book chapters.
